On Sunday, May 24, the Village of Hancock, NY will be buzzing with activity in celebration of Memorial Day Weekend!
Plans are in place for a fun afternoon of live music, great food, lawn games, exhibits, special offers, and sales throughout the entire village!
The community-wide yard sale will take place Saturday and Sunday — May 23 & 24 — with maps available to show the way to each sale… many within walking distance. The maps will also point the way to specials at local eateries and businesses, storefront art exhibits, special exhibits at the Hancock-Chehocton Historical Society, and more! Pick up your map at Circle E, the Hancock Herald, or Martin’s Cozy Corner, or DOWNLOAD YOUR MAP HERE! Maps will also be distributed with the May 13 edition of the Hancock Herald.
On Sunday, May 24, meet us at the Town Square after church (or after sleeping in!) around 12 noon for a moment of remembrance for the men and women who sacrificed all they had for our freedoms, and then celebrate their memory with a good old fashioned “Picnic In The Square” with everyone’s favorite chicken BBQ, hot dogs and hamburgers, refreshments, live music, old-fashioned games for kids and adults, and a huge dose of Community Spirit! Local eateries will be offering free samples and discounts from their menus, and there will be exhibits at the Nature Center, Historical Society, and along East Front Street beginning at 10am (see reverse of map for details).
So bring your blankets, bring your lawn chairs, and bring your excitement and enthusiasm as we welcome (finally!) the warm weather, blue skies, and the beginning of an exciting season at The Gateway to the Upper Delaware!
*** A special THANK YOU to Friends of the Upper Delaware for their sponsorship of the Gone Fishin’ Band performance! ***
